HOMELESSNESS

As both a business and as individuals we want to do something positive in the community. We live, sleep, eat and breathe land and property and our commercial transactions result in the construction of homes, both private and ‘affordable’. We assist our amazing developer partners to create wonderful living spaces, homes and new communities. We take a huge amount of pride in our role facilitating these amazing development opportunities, often seeing redundant unproductive land redeveloped and derelict or unviable structures demolished and replaced with places for people to live and to prosper.

But many in society simply miss out on opportunity and are excluded from the everyday dreams of the majority. These people are the homeless. They are in a situation that anyone could find themselves in, one small incident, an illness, job loss, issues and misfortune can quickly escalate. Life can be very cruel and there are so many incredible but unfortunate individuals and families that can literally find themselves penniless, on the street, hungry, vulnerable and totally reliant on charity and support. It would be all too easy to turn away, ignore their plight, imagine that this is some self-inflicted lifestyle choice of these homeless and do nothing but look away!

At Success Property we are committed to doing all we can for the homeless which includes raising awareness, taking part in a number of fundraising endeavours, making charitable contributions and providing food and care for the homeless. Community –
Answering the call

At Success Property we always strive to find ways to incorporate additional community benefits into any scheme developed on land which we control. Frequently we will ensure that a community hub is included within the design of the scheme. New communities can be very sterile places when people first arrive to inhabit the homes, community hubs perform a vital role in facilitating a rapid community feel to a development and assists in bringing people together. Community hubs are capable of being adapted for a variety of uses covering a whole spectrum of age group interests from playgroups and youth groups through to pensioner groups, holding celebratory events, community interest group gatherings, local and national celebration events, retirement clubs and health and fitness activities.

Where possible we will endeavour to assist local community groups with additional funding or subsidies, quite often this is vital to the very survival and viability of these groups within many communities and at Success Property we understand the importance of ‘a sense of place’.

If we are pursuing a planning consent in your area and you believe that a particular charity, social group, community interest group or society needs help or is seeking accommodation, we would be only too pleased to consider such requests and where appropriate to try to incorporate facilities for such groups within any proposed development scheme. We are also very interested in hearing from individuals or groups needing support in the wider community area in which our proposed development schemes arise.
